When I was 11 years old I attended a private school in Goleta, CA. It was my good fortune to have as one of my counselors, Jeff Kruthers, surf board shaper from Palos Verdes, CA. He had lived in Santa Barbara County since the early ‘60s. In 1968 Jeff took me to the Lobero Theater for the pre-screening of world famous surf board shaper and knee boarder George Greenough’s The Innermost Limits of Pure Fun.
